No Judicial Review of Wolf Delisting

HB 4040 doubled down on the Oregon Fish and Wildlife's controversial decision to delist wolves from the state Endangered Species Act by unnecessarily "ratifying" the decision. The purpose of the bill was to circumvent a judicial challenge to the delisting, thereby depriving citizens of their right to seek legal review of government actions. Further, this bill opens the door for the legislature to make politically driven decisions about the fate of imperiled animals across Oregon. Important decisions about whether to list or delist species should be based on science, not politics.
